This archipelago of approximately 50 islands is considered by many as the yachting capital of the world. Covering a surface area of just 59 miles, and fringed by an all protecting reef, sailing here is a joy as we experience excellent sailing winds with the constant trades, but non of the associated atlantic swell. Sixteen of the palm-fringed islands are inhabited, including Necker Island, owned by Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson.
