"We enjoyed it very much. Both the crew and the boat were as good as one could hope for. Fin and Richard were both extremely professional and eager to help. They were inventive in dealing with problems. For example, they rigged up a mid-ship winch to lift the anchor when the anchor winch stopped working. The food was very good. Richard went to a lot of trouble to produce high quality cuisine in challenging conditions. They listened to and tried to satisfy our pretty particular food preferences.

We did see some new places. We were glad we tried to stay away from towns, since the nights we spent in towns were by far the least favorite ones. Kornati were amazing - definite highlight in terms of landscape and nature. Hiking to the top of the island for a sunset was beautiful. We also loved Dugi Otok, which was a revelation for me. It has amazing, large and beautiful, bays both at the south and north ends. We also ate at some excellent restaurants. Brijuni were also very interesting, and fun to explore.

We are now all back home and savouring the time we spent on Mustique. We had a marvellous time. Fin is a fabulous skipper both as a sailor as well as a host, with excellent hospitality skills. The boat is immaculate and is very comfortable and perfectly maintained with every entertainment (games, snorkelling equipment, water skis, etc.) By and large, we would give the entire experience an excellent score. All safety issues were covered, and organizing meals, food shopping etc. were done quietly and unobtrusively. Fin and Stefan both cook and present the meals beautifully and knew when to give our family privacy and when to join in. It was a perfect balance.

Our time aboard Mustique was magical!

Fin, your sailboat is truly magnificent. You both were extremely accommodating to each of our needs. Every meal was over the top and who could ask for better dining views. Each handpicked anchorage was exactly what we wanted. Quiet, serene and beautiful. The restaurants you recommended on shore were delightful. The stops for swimming were great and most refreshing.

We loved when you raised all the sails, and tore through the Adriatic at full speed with a great wind. Becky had never been on a sailboat of that size...what an adventure! (Especially for Rick, who was unaware we were full tilt (literally) as he had just entered the shower. I am sure this is the first shower he took at a 45 degree angle...and probably the last.) But most of the time, it was very relaxing and smooth sailing. The perfect combination.

Thanks to Stephan for showing us how and where to purchase and install the Croatian internet in our phones. (very inexpensive) And of course, he was johnny on the spot with vodka tonics (for Becky and I) after swimming and evening cocktails and munchies.

We would sail with you anywhere.

This was one of those vacations that you will compare all others to and they just won't measure up! I told everyone when I returned that I'm ruined for any future travel because the bar has been set so high from this spectacular experience. I found the yacht Mustique online and as much as I was intrigued by the yacht and destinations I was a little skeptical of sending my money overseas in fear I would never see it again or worse I would arrive and there would be no one there waiting for me. I originally was going to use my travel agent to arrange a similar experience since I would have the comfort of knowing I was insured. I found these prices to be double or even higher than what the Mustique charges so I decided to take a leap of faith. The owner and captain of the yacht, Finn McGurran had corresponded via email with me for months as I had many questions and concerns. He was always quick to reply and very thorough with his answers. He even went up and beyond to help me with a little family tree research before I arrived. When I first laid eyes on the yacht and met Finn and his crew mate Stef, I felt that any expectation I had, had been exceeded. The boat is absolutely gorgeous, spacious, very clean and did I mention exceeding all expectations! I felt very welcomed and assured Finn's yacht was our home away from home for the next week and a half. I had 6 family members with me on the trip ranging from ages 12-71 to celebrate my 40th Birthday. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us and I was surprised at how large and efficient the master bedroom was. Both Finn and Stef are very attentive to your every need. Whatever it is you may need or want they provide it for you. They always had coffee and breakfast waiting for us, could tell when we needed a refreshing drink or snack, had meals ready when they said they would, had the boat spotless everyday and communicated with us at every step of the way. The wonderful thing about this trip is you have a lot of flexibility. You can start your day when you want to, you can stop sailing to swim or do fun boat activities when you're in the mood. You can stay longer or shorter at a destination. Pretty much whatever you desire can be accommodated. Finn takes a lot of pride in his yacht and keeps it sparkly clean daily. I felt extremely safe the entire time and felt comforted by all his knowledge which he is willing to share with you, if you have interest. I was concerned that I might get sea sick but it was all smooth sailing. Finn had the best itinerary planned for us and we were able to stop at many smaller ports than bigger ships can go to. He had advice for us at each destination of where to eat, things to do and must see attractions. He arranged special outings for us ahead of time to tailor to our specific interests which all were absolutely wonderful. He had the inside scoop of some special things to do and had the contacts to arrange to make them all happen. I felt very lucky to have my own personal planner that I trusted and knew I wasn't missing out on anything.

I have a lot to say about the meals that were provided on board. Wow!!! Everything was so well thought out and planned to our likes and dislikes. All the food was fresh, local and made by Finn and Stef. The recipes were unique, absolutely delicious and presented like a high end restaurant. I was so excited to always see what they would do for the next meal. You will not go hungry on this trip, that's for sure. They were great about having separate options for my kids but our meals were so amazing that my kids ate what we ate and found many things they liked that they thought they didn't. Both Finn and Stef worked very hard in the kitchen and spent a lot of time making our meals just perfect.

The Southern Dalmatia is gorgeous and is such an experience viewing it from the coastline. It is definitely a trip of a lifetime and one worth checking off your bucket list. My experience was enhanced by sailing from Island to Island as it is a unique way to take in the country side. Having such a wonderful crew that was so friendly and attentive to each persons needs aboard really made my experience that more enriched. My vacation wouldn't have been the same without Finn and Stef and I'm lucky to have found two new friends around the world.

10 Croatia 2013 − On The Mustique

WOW − what an incredible adventure our family had on the Mustique with our Captain Finn and his first mate Stef. Every wish or request was beyond our expectations.

Before our trip we gave Finn and Stef an idea of the foods we liked and from there every meal was like dining in a 5 star restaurant. All meals were freshly made and presented in a first class manner. We quickly got spoiled.

Our accommodations were very comfortable, clean and almost like being at home.

The cruise was soooo much fun − stopping for a swim or watching sea life and visiting all the fabulous towns along the Croatian Sea. The expertise, friendliness, attention to detail and kindness extended from Finn and Stef made it hard to say good-bye. They became our friends.

Our family would love to take another trip with Finn and Stef on the beautiful Mustique.

We really enjoyed our stay on the Yacht Mustique. It has to be one of our best family holidays ever. The feeling of freedom because we could decide where we wanted to go and when we wanted to drop anchor, was very special. The quality of the food and the service was second to none (my favourite was your amazing thai curry and Stefan's ice-creams!) and the doughnut was better than 5 star. You and Stefan made the trip made the trip that much better because we felt so at home. Mustique was extremely comfortable, and we were very sad to leave her when we had to say goodbye.

The different ports that we stopped at were magical. Our favourites were Korcula, Ston and Mali-Ston. The oysters there were amazing. In fact the food everywhere we went was unbelievably good. Thank you for all of your recommendations - we all gained a little bit of weight on this holiday.

But the highlight for our family has to be the sighting of 'George', our very own bottle-nose dolphin that followed us from Viz to Korcula. That was an experience that none of us will ever forget. It is the kind of thing happens only on a sailboat because we were not using the engines. There is no way that this would have happened on any other type of boat. Because of the way the Mustique is built, it was almost as if we could reach down and touch George as he swam along with us. This would never have happened on a 'Plastic Fantastic' Yacht running on engine.

Wow, looking back at the pictures brings back so many wonderful memories! The trip aboard Yacht Mustique quite simply could not have been better. Mustique herself is an amazing yacht! You and Stephan were such perfect sailors and hosts - and the food and wine.... where to start? To be honest, we expected the Croatian coast to be spectacular, and we had very high expectations for Mustique - and were not disappointed The icing on the cake was your professionalism and hospitality, not to mention your surprising skills as a chef!! If you only knew how many times we have said, "remember when we were on the boat and..."
